Well, you should join in, spin their music on Spotify and try to make it out to one of their shows. With a voice that seems tailor made for Texas/Red Dirt and thoughtful songwriting, TC Fambro & The Copperheads crisscross the Southern Music Scene gaining fans and support with every dive bar, concert venue and open mic they play.
I have had the pleasure of filming TC before, when I was filming bands at Crossroads Saloon in Big Spring, TX. It was there at I heard him play a cover of Jason Boland’s song When I’m Stoned, a classic Red Dirt song. Immediately, I was floored by how well he played it and his own material, especially Texas Town. As I started the On The Road series and began reaching out to bands, he was on the top of the list. Though he may not have a six digit following on Facebook or Twitter, and he may not have the backing of a giant Nashville record label, he has the talent and the drive to be a legend in the Southern Music Scene.
Recently, TC competed in the Blue Light Songwriters Competition in Lubbock, TX and made it past the first round. For those of our Lubbock/Amarillo readers, I hope y’all will head out to the Blue Light and show him some support. If you can’t make it out there, do try to swing by your local watering hole when the whole band comes through. You will not be disappointed in their style, which gives a nod to contemporary artists of the scene but has a lot of respect and admiration for the older artists, including TC’s favorite: Merle Haggard. Below I have included for your listening pleasure their tunes from Spotify.
